Sending trashed posts to be indexed

    It is the desired behavior. In order for the search within the admin to work properly when the ‘trash’ post_status is selected, these posts need to be updated and available. The only post status currently filtered out is the ‘auto-draft’ that is created when first starting a post.

    Ah, yes, that makes sense.

    What would be the best way to filter these out in public search results? If I do it in the loop on the public search results page it would simply not show that result, meaning there would be fewer than the X number of posts per page.

    Is there a better way?
