I believe I have found a compatibility issue between WPML and Sensei LMS (which developers of both have said may be the case following the recent updates of both).

Under Sensei LMS, you need to nominate a “My Courses” page under the settings, and this page either displays a user’s courses for logged-in users, or displays a login widget for logged-out users.

Using WPML, I used string translation for “my courses” after scanning the Sensei LMS plugin for strings. However, in the Italian version of the page (https://lingosing.com/it/my-courses/), the title “My courses” is still in English.

I tried to get around this by going to the English version of the “My Courses” page, and creating duplicates in Italian (and French), and only translating the title. However, users cannot log into the Sensei LMS platform using these duplicate “My Courses” pages. Only the nominated page (in English) works.

I tried going into Sensei LMS, changing the wp-admin working language to Italian, and setting the Italian version of the “My Courses” page in Sensei LMS (and repeating this for French and English). Unfortunately, it seems that Sensei LMS can only recognise one special “My Courses” page at once; if the French version of the page is selected, only it works for the purposes of logging into Sensei LMS.

The alternative is to delete the Italian/French translations of the “My Courses” pages, and only have one “My Courses” page (in English) – but the WPML string translation utility only seems to be able to pick up everything except the page title.

Any thoughts on workarounds, or whether this functionality can be improved in the future?

    Thanks

    Hi @lingosing,

It’s possible that the slugs (my-courses) are cached and thus interfering with the newly-translated URL.

Would you try resetting permalinks by going to wp-admin > Settings > Permalinks? Clicking “Save Changes” (without actually making any changes) should do the trick.

If that doesn’t work, I recommend checking the troubleshooting steps noted here–though the doc is specifically for Polylang, most tips should be applicable for WPML as well.

Let us know how it goes!
