    Good Day,

We are using Cloudflare with Minimum TLS Version 1.3 enabled.

Unfortunately, under the above condition, every time we run your SEO Analyzer, we get the following message: API Error: HTTP 400 Error. If we downgrade to Minimum TLS Version 1.2, everything works fine.

We followed your knowledge base instructions for addressing the above condition, but they did not help. Also, please know our website’s HTTP Return Status Code is 200 OK.

Please review and advise. A fix for the above condition is requested. All other plugins are working fine.

In short, we believe your code (server and/or plugin) needs to be updated to support TLS 1.3.

    Thank you!

    Hello @generosus,

Thank you for contacting the support and reporting the issue.

We will see what can be done to support sites that have the “Minimum TLS Version” set to 1.3. For now, we recommend using TLS version 1.2 or lower as the minimum version, because even some browsers don’t support TLS v1.3, which means that some of your potential visitors would not be able to access your site (aside from our server also being unable to fetch your homepage for the SEO Analysis).

Even Cloudflare does not recommend setting “Minimum TLS Version” to 1.3: https://developers.cloudflare.com/ssl/edge-certificates/additional-options/minimum-tls/

It is not recommended to set the minimum TLS to 1.3, unless there is a specific use case, as this will likely cause issues with search engine crawlers and certain browsers.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi @rankmathteam,

    Thanks for the information.

Please know that TLS 1.3 is now available and enabled by default on all major browsers (and crawlers).

    Details: https://caniuse.com/tls1-3

Also, while we have downgraded our Minimum TLS Version to 1.2, please know that approximately 97% of Cloudflare TLS handshakes are now taking place over TLS 1.3.

So, in short, updating your code to accept TLS 1.3 connections is the right thing to do. Everybody wins.

    Thank you!
