    Hello!
I’m having troubles with the yoast metabox in one of my categories.

When I create a post, I have the entire metabox and then I can edit all the tabs (SEO / Readability / Social Media / Advanced. Everything is OK.
But when I close the post editor, and then return to it in order to modify some details on the Yoast Metabox, the first two tabs (SEO and Readability) are blank, not editable anymore ! Social Media and Advanced are still editable.

The thing is that issue happens only on one category of posts on my WordPress. For other categories, I can edit snippet and have readability analysis.

I’m sure it’s not a problem with Javascript or with plugin conflicts because the problem only appears with one category of posts. I don’t have Avast installed on my computer, and once again, some categories are working fine with Yoast metabox.

    I’m using WordPress 5.2.2
    With Yoast SEO (free) 11.7
    All plugins are updated

Can anyone help me with that?
    Regards,

    Riana

  • I’m having this same exact issue. Can’t edit the first two tabs on yoast 11.7 (premium), although for me it’s not just one category, it’s on all posts as far as i can tell.

I finally understand what is happening but yet I don’t have solutions to fix the issue :-/
I disabled all the other plugins on my WordPress and tried to activate them one by one just to see if one of them is really on conflict with Yoast SEO.
I found out that a plugin named “Advanced custom Fields PRO” is not compatible with the use of Yoast SEO. If this plugin is activated then I can’t use the first two tabs of my Yoast metadatabox when editing posts.
The thing is that I really need this plugin!

I hope this can help you too!

For what it’s worth, I’m not using that plugin, but am having the same issue.

We are also having the same problem. The SEO tab is blank, but only on two pages of our site. All other pages will show the SEO tab content.

I am having the same issue too on one of our sites. SEO and readability tabs are blank on all pages. It was working without any issues before the update.

Same issue here. Except I am not using the plugin arhinoa above mentioned. And in my case, it’s not just the SEO and Readability tabs that aren’t showing. It’s the text editor as well. Visual tab works, but not text editor tab.

I have the same issue also!

    Same issue for me too

    Same problem here.

Yoast seems to have become an unreliable plugin, First with the big image indexing blunder, and now this buggy stuff that’s obviously wide spread going on the replies here. I’ll switch to another plugin when I have the time.

How the hell have they not addresses this by now or at least replied to this thread? It’s obviously a major problem, it has literally disabled the text editor in my site and we can’t even edit the meta info on new posts. Come on Yoast.

Same here! Can anyone recommend an alternative, I’m desperate!

In our case, it is the ‘Classic Editor’ plugin – when it’s deactivated, Yoast goes back to normal.

@empresa365 Same here, just disabled Classic Editor plugin and all good now. Thanks for the tip.

Yup, here too. Thanks for the tip, though for me not a permanent solution as I need the classic editor (Gutenberg wrecks my site).

Yeah, odds are they will fix this incompatibility as both plugins are widely used. An official reply to this thread would be nice thou.
