SEO data optimization fails when permalink without trailing slash

    Hi,
    i get the error:
    Oops, something has gone wrong and we couldn’t complete the optimization of your SEO data. Please click the button again to re-start the process.
    when i click on button Start SEO data optimization.

    Reason:
    Permalinks settings Custom Structure /%category%/%postname%

    When i change to /%category%/%postname%/
    (with trailing slash) it is working

    How can i fix this please as i would prefer URL structure without trailing slash

    I am using the most recent version of yoast 15.2.1
