I am new to seo and I have three questions that have been confusing me for a long time, you guys are experts who have been doing seo work for a long time, please help me with my confusion.

First: those domains that have more than 2k traffic per month on semrush. What exactly is their natural traffic strategy? Are they getting a lot of traffic from a few pages that rank in the top 3 for a long time? Or do they have many, many pages and it’s uncertain which page will rank in the top 3 when?

Second: For the same keyword, if I write a greater number of articles? Then the more clicks I can get? For example, for the same keyword, when I have ten articles, I get 2 clicks per month, and when I have 100 articles, I get 20 clicks per month. Is this the truth?

Third: I find it hard to get clicks on product detail pages, compared to blog post pages. So how can I improve the ranking of my product detail pages?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi @mason5666,

I’m glad you reached out with your questions! SEO can be quite complex, but let’s break down your queries:

    1. Natural Traffic Strategy for High-Traffic Domains

Domains with over 2k traffic per month often employ a mix of strategies:

    • High-Performing Pages: Many of these sites do have a few high-performing pages that rank in the top 3 for competitive keywords. These pages can drive significant traffic, especially if they address popular search queries effectively.
    • Content Diversity: However, it’s also common for these domains to have a broad content portfolio. They may not solely rely on a few pages; instead, they produce a wide range of content. This diversity can lead to consistent traffic from various keywords, increasing the likelihood that some pages will rank well.
    • Continuous Optimization: They probably also regularly optimize their existing content and create new articles to capture trending topics, ensuring they stay relevant and competitive in search rankings.

    2. More Articles and Clicks

Writing more articles on the same keyword can sometimes lead to more clicks, but it’s not guaranteed. Here’s why:

    • Content Quality: If you create ten articles that provide valuable, unique, and well-optimized content, you might see a better return than simply scaling up the number of articles without focusing on quality.
    • Search Intent: If your articles address different aspects or intents of the same keyword, they can capture a broader audience. However, if all articles are too similar, they might compete against each other, which can dilute your traffic.
    • Keyword Strategy: It’s often more effective to target related keywords or variations rather than just one. This broader approach can help you attract more clicks.

    3. Improving Clicks on Product Detail Pages

Getting clicks on product detail pages can indeed be more challenging than on blog posts. Here are some strategies to improve their ranking:

    • SEO Optimization: Ensure your product pages are well-optimized for relevant keywords. Use clear titles, engaging meta descriptions, and high-quality images with alt tags.
    • Rich Snippets: Implement structured data (schema markup) for product pages. This can enhance how your pages appear in search results and improve click-through rates (CTR).
    • User Reviews and Ratings: Encourage customers to leave reviews. Positive reviews can boost your credibility and ranking, and they also provide fresh content for your pages.
    • Content and Context: Provide additional context on your product pages, such as blog articles or FAQs related to your products. This can help improve relevance and drive traffic from multiple sources.
    • Internal Linking: Link to your product pages from relevant blog posts or other parts of your website to help search engines discover and prioritize these pages.

Feel free to ask if you need more information on any of these points!

    Hi @mason5666,

We haven’t heard back from you in a couple of days.

I’m going to go ahead and close this thread for now. But if you’d like us to assist, please feel welcome to continue the conversation.

    Thanks!
