    Hi

I am using the Yoast SEO free plugin which I have used for quite some time for some clients.

The free I assume ONLY allows you to add 1 keyword from what I can see ?
Or can you add more with commas in between ?

I have an SEO guy when they do their analysis, saying NO keywords can be found on the pages but they are on there with the Yoast SEO plugin (1 keyword per page), but I also put keywords in backend behind images which always works well also.

Are there other methods I can do (or possibly the paid plugin) that will rectify when the SEO guy analyses and says “No keywords found on page” .. This is very frustrating …

Any advice or help would be great so I can rectify things for a few clients.

    Thanks
    Kristin

I was googling also and it says

Install a plugin called Yoast Seo. It is a free wordpress plugin.
Go to Yoast SEO and select Dashboard
    Go to Features tab
Enable, Advance settings page if it is not enable (By default, its enable)
Now, again go to Yoast SEO and select Tiles and Metas
    Select, Other tab
You will find a option to enable Use Meta Keywords Tag. So, enable it.

But I cannot find this additional feature in my free version.
Hence my question whether it is only available in the Paid plugin ?

    Thanks

I have standard tags used as keywords also on each page to help google pickup pages relevant to keywords. It is an e-commerce site.

    Thanks

Thanks for reaching out here. You identified multiple queries that you want us to address and we’ll address them in order:

Difference between Yoast SEO and Premium
There are a lot more than just the focus keyphrases difference between free and premium. You can find the whole list in a comparison table here: https://yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/seo/

No keywords can be found on the pages
If you or the person you’re referring to looking for the focus keyphrase in the source code of the page from the front end part, then it is expected not to see any focus keyphrases on there. Focus keyphrases are only meant for Yoast SEO that search engines aren’t aware of, so there’s no need to output them on the front end part source of the website. Yoast SEO uses focus keyphrases to optimize the content. You can find more information about this here: https://yoast.com/focus-keyword/

On the other hand, there is another type of keyword called meta keywords and that’s what appears on the front end part of the website. However, Yoast SEO dropped the relevant keywords a long ago as search engines no longer use them. You can find more information about it here: https://yoast.com/meta-keywords/

    Cannot find additional options
It sounds like you’re referring to the meta keywords here. As mentioned above, Yoast SEO no longer has the meta keywords option. So, if you’re seeing the relevant ?ption in a video on YouTube or somewhere else, that’s probably the video is outdated as well.

    We hope this helps!

    Hi,

    Thanks for your reply.

So I’m bit confused when these SEO specialists come along and analyse sites with their software tools and say to clients that there are NO keywords on pages when there are.

I may need to find another plugin that will allow additional keywords to be added in the backend possibly to help with google picking up pages etc.

Keywords are already distributed through the content on pages but usually never enough.

Any other advice would be great .

    Regards
    Kristin

    Hello Kristin,

In September 2009, Google announced officially what was true for years back then. “Google does not use the keywords meta tag in web ranking”. Matt Cutts even explained it in this video.

No worries, because today, SEO consists of many other tactics that do have an impact. Because the reality is, that if you’re trying to rank for any term that’s even only a little competitive, meta keywords won’t help. You should write engaging, meaningful content on a technically well-optimized platform and get good links and social engagement. That’s what builds great rankings, meta keywords have nothing to do with it.
