SEO Permalinks showing Category?

    Hello,

    I recently migrated to GeneratePress and I noticed that all my search results show Category: X when looking at the permalink in Google search results. In permalink settings I have it set to Post name, is there something else that I am missing?

    Hello!

    The “Category: ” prefix pertains to meta titles, not canonical URLs or the theme. So, I’m a bit confused by your question.

    If you do mean the meta title, then please refer to https://tsf.fyi/kb/a/34.

    If you mean the /category/ base of the canonical URL, then I suggest not removing it; there’s no SEO value in doing that. However, if you find it necessary, then you can use this plugin: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/no-category-base-wpml/.
