    Hi!
a minor problem on a clients website was reported to me. Minor because everything works fine with your fabulous plugin, don’t worry. But the client received a report from his SEO-tool (Sixtrix) where it says something like this:

…We found several URLs of JS-files that cannot be reached. That is a major problem for search engines like google and that might cause a loss in your ranking. Because of this the client cant sleep anymore. ??

Then all the URLs are quoted. e.g. https://www.wegbegleitungen.ch/wp-content/plugins/mailpoet/assets/js/vendor.21b3da77.js?ver=3.12.0

The version of MP that is used by the client is 3.14.0

I suppose that it is an old URL from version 3.12 of MP and since my client uses 3.14 that file cannot be found, cause it was replaced during the upgrade. Do you agree? I think yes, but the clients wants to know it 100% sure. ?? So please tell me if my theory is right. ??

If it is right, I suppose there is no way in telling google that file does not exist anymore and anyway google will not pay any attention to that kind of stuff. (My theory again. ?? ) Maybe you could tell me if I am right again.

If so I will report to the client that she can go on sleeping relaxed, no loss in ranking will happen because of a JS-file that was updated. ??

    Do you agree?
    Thanks
    Raphael

    Hi Raphael,

Don’t worry a versioned file (dynamic) won’t be indexed or crawled anyway so won’t have any impact on ranking. ??

It sounds like when you updated the cache busting didn’t work, can you try deactivating and deleting MailPoet, then re-install?

    Thanks!

    Hi!”
Thank you, that is the same what I told my client. But as the information comes from an “authority” (Sistrix) she feels unsure about it. It is a bit strange that Sistrix lists such things in a report as “serious”.

    Thank you!
    Raphael
