    Hi,
I made a website and achieved pretty good SEO score – 95/100.
I have a lot of content, video, images …
But after a new Rank Math updates the score dropped to 52.
It gives me suggestions I should have 300 words, use more keywords in the content/H2/H3 etc.

Furthermore, if I refresh/update the score sometimes jumps back to 95 during the refreshing process but when is done it’s still down to 52.

I’m using caching and I cleared everything but it didn’t help.

Is this somekind of bug or am I missing something?

    Thank you!

Oh, well, if I disable SiteOrigin Page Builder the score is back to 95.
    Must be a compatibility issue?

One more thing: I don’t see RankMath menu on the right when editing a page. I checked it at the top of the page but I still don’t see it.

    Hello @nascas

    Thank you for your message.

It does actually work well with Site Origin. There is just one thing that doesn’t work and it is the fact that Rank Math cannot read the alt text of your images added using Site Origin. That will make one of the content analysis fail but it does not affect your SEO or rankings. It is only used as an internal metric to give you a to-do list of things you can do to optimize your website.

Apart from that one teeny-tiny thing, everything else works great. Even for that issue, we have added API access to the content analysis in the Rank Math plugin to make content from page builder plugins readable by Rank Math.

You would need to contact the developer of the plugin you mentioned by showing the following link:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/content-analysis-api/

Many known companies have already added the compatibility, as it takes a few hours:
    https://rankmath.com/compatibility/divi/
    https://rankmath.com/compatibility/elementor/
    https://rankmath.com/compatibility/themify-builder/
    https://rankmath.com/compatibility/page-builder-framework/
    https://rankmath.com/compatibility/flothemes/

Wth that said, assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins, themes and WordPress (please update if not yet), it would seem like a conflict with one of the plugins or the theme you are using.

To determine that, please follow this troubleshooting guide:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/

Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.

We hope that helps. Please let us know if there’s anything else you need our assistance with. More than happy to help.

    Hi,

Thank you for the thorough reply and willingness to help.

Like I said, it has worked well before but now it does not. There were no changes besides regular updates. The site is one month old.

Alt text isn’t the only issue, the word counter is showing less than 300 words (there are actually 900 words) etc. Probably some other things too as missing alt images would probably not cause score drop from 95 to 52.

So something isn’t right here. I have contacted the plugin developer and in case they will found a solution I will post it here …

Of course I will. We’re already looking into it.

In the meanwhile I have another question.
I’m a relatively fresh RankMath user so I’m sorry if this is a basic question. ??

On my other page I’m working on I have those warnings:
Your title doesn’t contain a positive or a negative sentiment word. Headlines with a strong emotional sentiment (positive or negative) tend to receive more clicks.
Your title doesn’t contain a power word. Add at least one. Power Words are tried-and-true words that copywriters use to attract more clicks.
Your SEO title doesn’t contain a number. Headlines with numbers are 36% more likely to generate clicks, according to research by Conductor.

However, they aren’t seen on the homepage.
When I look all the pages the schema is set to Service on all pages. Is this causing this?

    Hello @nascas

You can follow the following guide to reach 100:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/score-100-in-tests/

But please stay advised that these tests are just guidelines and one does not need to follow them religiously.

At the end of the day, the content needs to be written for the readers and not for the search engines.

Scoring higher points in Rank Math’s tests won’t guarantee higher rankings.

    Hope that helps Thank you.

    Hi,

Thanks, I’m well aware of that.

SEO plugin just help what might be missed when writing content. And that’s why it is good if they work as intended. ??

If the score is close to 100 you are doing something right. Like you said, this is only one part of the equation. But it’s a good start!

    Hello @nascas

Definitely. It is just that when the page builders add the content using the non-conventional way, they need to add the support for the Rank Math plugin by using the following method:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/content-analysis-api/

We are sure that your page builder company can add it easily and if they need any assistance then they can contact us via our contact form on our website.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

Nothing new here, they didn’t find anything on their servers so a recreation of my site on the same server was done. I’ll let you know when something pops up.
In the meanwhile I installed your plugin on one site and after two weeks Google still can’t read the meta description. Is there anything I can do?

    Thank you!

    Hello @nascas

    Thank you for the update.

    1. First of all, I am assuming that you have already changed the SEO Meta Title and Meta Description with the help of Rank Math:

Add a Meta Description in Classic Editor: https://i.rankmath.com/dhECkg
Add title and description in Gutenberg: https://i.rankmath.com/ZO21Cd

    2. Then, ensure that this is the setting in the Schema tab if Schema Markup module is enabled on your website:
    https://i.rankmath.com/pG0pcS

To reiterate, the Schema title must show %seo_title% and the description should show %seo_description% – this will ensure your SEO title and SEO Description that you set up via Rank Math can also be used for your schema details:

    3. The next step is to check if your title/description is properly set up in the page source:
    https://i.rankmath.com/HwXR1o

You can use this tool for the same as well: https://www.heymeta.com/

    4. If it matches your settings, then you must check if Google has seen the changes already or not.

For that, please check when the Google cache was updated for that page:
    a. https://i.rankmath.com/9q6X0H
    b. https://i.rankmath.com/R8N0Uh

If the cache date is from before adding the new meta description, then you just have to wait for Google to re-crawl and re-index the page with the new info. If the date is after you made the changes, then you just have to wait it out and there is no further input needed from your end.

Do note that if everything’s fine and Google still decides to show a different meta title/description for your search keyword, there is nothing you can do as Google sometimes ignores the custom meta info altogether and show something from the page’s content that matches the search intent better.

Here are some of the common reasons Google might not use the meta description you provided:
    – The meta description is not relevant or useful (ie, just a collection of keywords).
    – The exact same meta description is provided across a large number of pages.
    – The meta description doesn’t match what the user is searching for, but other content on the page does.

There is a whole article dedicated to this on SearchEngineJournal:
    https://www.searchenginejournal.com/google-offers-suggestions-for-avoiding-meta-description-rewrites/359884/

Here is an example showing Google changes title depending on the keyword used:
    https://i.rankmath.com/oT6VQe
    &
    https://i.rankmath.com/Mrhb0x

The best you can do is optimize your meta tags to try and match the intent of the search/keyword.

Hope that helps. If you have any further question(s), please let us know. Thank you.
