Hi there, I ran into an issue where no matter how I try to add them the SEO Title and Meta Descriptions are not saving for posts or pages.

I had a few plugins running on the site so I disabled them all, changed the theme to 2021 and made sure everything is updated. The only plugin enabled is Yoast.

    My wp version is: 5.9.2

    My yoast version is: 18.3

The site is NOT a multi-site

I have already tried clearing the site cache. I see a few posts with the same issue but either the resolution involves disabling a plugin I am not using or the post was abandoned without a resolution being posted.

If any other information would be helpful please let me know. Thank you!

We’re sorry for the trouble caused, this must’ve been very annoying for you. As we’re unable to reproduce the issue under similar configuration, we would like some more information.

    – Are any JavaScript errors appearing?
    – Does the issue resolve if you clear your cache and cookies?
    – Does the issue resolve if you use a different browser such as Chrome or Firefox?
    – If you have any browser plugins/extensions, does disabling them resolve the issue?

While we are in attempt to gather some more information about the cause of this error, would you be able to provide the error log information from your server? We want to see if there are any PHP errors recorded in the error log which might help us narrow down the cause. You may need to contact your hosting provider for this information.

We are looking forward to your reply in order to assist you with this further.

Hi I have resolved the issue but to help others that may have had a similar issue with no clear cause:
    – No js errors
    – Cache / cookies didn’t make a difference
    – all browsers were effected on different machines
    – no browser addon conflicts

I ran a health check and got a Rest error referenced CURL and asked my website host for help on what that might be, they scanned the site and found the wp-config file was corrupted and the site had been infected with malware which was breaking REST and the meta information being saved.

Thank you for letting us know, happy to hear you got it sorted after fixing your config file. We’ll be marking the topic as resolved. Thank you.
