SEO Title/Description not updating on Google

Hi there,
Firstly, I’m not clued up on coding and have very basic WordPress skills!
I’m having a problem where I update my homepage using SEO Yoast and on Google it doesn’t update, it still takes the first few paragraphs and uses that instead.
I’ve tried disabling other plugins, tried updating wordpress, tried updating Yoast, but to no avail! Anyone have any suggestions?
