Whilst trying to find out why I am getting two sets of Title tags on all my pages I followed some suggestions about checking some of the Yoast settings.

Specifically Go to SEO > Titles and metas. When I do, I am sent to a 404 page.

    Link was (after logging in)
    https://www.mysite.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=wpseo_title

I don’t know why this happens, my other sites do not do this same versions and same plug ins.

    Any suggestions as to
    1. Why the page gives a Not Found
    2. Why I am getting two Tile tags per page?

    Ta.

By default, the advanced settings (like titles and metas) are disabled when you complete the configuration wizard. However, they can be enabled by following the steps here.

After reviewing the code for your site, you are outputting multiple meta data tags. This can cause a variety of problems including issues sharing content or having the incorrect data appear in Google.

The most common cause of duplicate meta data tags is when a theme or plugin outputs SEO data in the header. Please check your settings and turn off any SEO output.

If the issue remains, please run a conflict check following the steps here: How To Check For Plugin Conflicts

    Thanks for the suggestions.

I Carried out the following checks.

    1. Turn off all Plugins inc Yoast. Duplicate Title fault still present.
    2. Turn on Yoast, Duplicate title fault still present.
3 Turn on another plugin inc Yoast (at random) Duplicate title fault still present.
    4. Change the theme/child them to a standard 2016 theme, The Duplicate title fault

      goes

    .

It would seem that I need to trace this, Site uses DIVI theme and a child theme from it.
Somewhere along the way TWO sets of <title>Site info here</title? tags are getting created.

Heaader.php has been checked for repeating tag info, none found, enable / disable the advanced settings page button makes no difference either.

I can’t pin down anything concrete, so if anyone can suggest anything I’d appreciate it. The curious thing is I have 2 sites doing this but others have the same DIVI / Child config but they do not replicate the title tags.

Anyone have any suggestions as to why I get 2 <Title> tags using DIVI and a child theme? Anyone had similar issues?

Have you tried contacting Divi’s support team?

    (Doh!)
Yes, also – for anyone as daft as me, For interest this seems to be related to using DIVI with a child theme.

Elegant themes have a Child theme version they let you use (if you’re a member) they say this will cure the issue.
