• Hi. Our site was hacked and seo ultimate plug in was one that was targeted. It had to be deactivated. When it was reactivated, it was still corrupt. We re-downloaded it, thinking it would copy over the other one, but it didn’t. Now we have two plug ins, and we don’t know which is corrupted. Can we delete both, then re-download the plug in without losing the multitude of seo work already done on the site? Thanks for any advice.

Yes, you can safely delete the plugin files. Doing so will not delete the SEO data, because this is stored in the database, not in the plugin files.

Uninstalling the plugin, on the other hand, will delete the data. So be sure not to click the “Uninstall” option.

If you’re worried about losing your data, be sure you have a backup of your database before doing anything.

Hi. I recently updated WP 3.4.2 and I lost the SEO Ultimate plugin. I tried to re-install, however it failed due to:

    Destination folder already exists. /services/webpages/util/1/0/10dv5sug8.myutilitydomain.com/howtofindajob.us/public/wp-content/plugins/seo-ultimate/

I am not a developer and would like some instructions on how to find the folder and the steps required to fix this problem. Thank you in advance.

    Hello John,

I have just one, very important question for you — when is SEO Ultimate going to get an update? It’s been a while…will we be getting an update this month? Please say yes..
