SEO: Urgent actions, useful actions, easiest implementation

  • There are various posts on how to optimise WP for SEO. For example: setting H1 tags to titles rather than the default of H3, clean-url system (whatever that is), getting posts to have a clear URL (discussed at https://blogging.typepad.com/how_to_blog/2004/08/how_to_configur.html), adding meta-tags. Probably many others which I haven’t seen yet (just started WP this week).

    I suspect that some of these should be done urgently as they may be more difficult once multiple posts and other configuration data has been input. Others can probably be done at leisure. Therefore, I have related questions:

    1a) What are the SEO items that one needs to do early as they are more difficult later?
    1b) What is the easiest way to do these urgent items?
    2a) What are the other SEO items that should be done?
    2b) What is the easiest way to do these?

  • It sounds like you have a good start. Most of this has to do with basic HTML and not necesarrily WordPress, so you’d do much better to ask in a forum dedicated to SEO, which this is not.
