SEO value of links in WordPress Text Widget

Thanks in advance for your help with this question!

I know that Google devalues links that appear sitewide in footers and sidebars. Do search engines also devalue links that appear in WordPress’ text widgets? Or, are these links given equal value to links that appear in the body of a page? I’m trying to decide whether to move links out of the widgets and into body copy.
