If plugin activated I’m getting nothing found (error 404) for every simple search term (posts of course contain these terms). Tested on different themes twentysixteen, .fifteen ect. : https://prnt.sc/ecgb7s
When plugin is diasabled search results are fine.

    Hello @dannci,

We have tested this scenario in our development server. SEP does not conflict with the theme’s search functionality. This is the stable release of the SEP.

WP default themes search work only for post title and post content. For categories search, you have to enhance the search query scope to get the maximum result.

Must check your plugins, maybe they are conflicting with your theme’s search.

    Thanks & Regards,

No sorry, you are not right! I know what I’m doing…
    You can test it here: https://dannci.wpmasters.org/backup/processing/ ;
    e.g. https://dannci.wpmasters.org/backup/processing/?s=Cras+eget
There are many posts with Cras or eget words. Activated is only Simple Event Plugin https://prnt.sc/ecsa5p

    Hello @dannci,

Sorry for the misunderstanding part of your query previously. Also, we have tested this behavior with Twenty Sixteen theme & SEP plugin activation and deactivation. We have concluded following results:

    – When we search a post title, the search is working fine.

    – When we search a keyword from the post content, the search is not working.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Hello,

and will there be any fix for that? It sounds like a serious issue when a plugin breaks such an important core function. In fact, the SEP plugin is useless now.

    Thank you

It’s default behavior of Twenty Sixteen theme search that we have observed with SEP activation and deactivation. So, either you need to check it at your theme level or deactivate SEP plugin and then let us know so that we can see your website behavior without it.

No it is not themes default behavior. And it is not related to the Twenty Sixteen theme only.
    See this: https://youtu.be/Xose0yd-5DE
Two themes and result is the same:

    – if Simple Event Planner is deactivated search functionality (from post content) is working,
    – if Simple Event Planner is activated search functionality (from post content) is not working,

I’m asking once again, will be fix for this or should I rate plugin and move.

    Thank you

    Hello Dannci,

Sorry for the inconvenience. Actually, this misunderstanding has occurred as our SEP team resolved this issue in development setup and we are unable to rectify it.

Also, you are free to rate our plugin, it is totally up to you.

Please contact us at [email protected] for the updated code files. Once again our apology for the inconvenience.

    Thanks & Regards,
    Team PressTigers
