Separate Snippet Per Hit Per Page

  • Hello, Relevanssi Support,

    I would like Relevanssi to display, in each separate page excerpt, a separate snippet for every hit found on the content pages.

    Example—at—
    https://mcintoshfirm.com/
    —a search for “george” would create an excerpt something like this:

    Welcome!
    PAGE
    …loopholes in Federal election laws that allow wealthy individuals to “buy” elected officials? Answer See, “The Curious Activity of George Soros in Virginia” … Was the demise of George Floyd really due to excessive force by the police, or was it due to something else?…

    Do you already have an online document that would help me to accomplish this? (I searched long, but could not find it.)

    Relevanssi won’t show you every hit on the content page, but if you enable Relevanssi custom excerpts, Relevanssi will show one excerpt that it thinks is the best match for the search terms.

    To get this, make sure “Create custom search result snippets” is checked in the Settings > Relevanssi > Excerpts & Highlights and also make sure your search results template is using the_excerpt() to print out the excerpts, because that’s what Relevanssi needs to show the Relevanssi excerpts.
