I just started to adapt the plugin to my theme and had trouble doing changing the layout and styling for the search form in the search listings widget.

It is in “core/widget-search.php”, where “wp-includes/general-template.php” suggests a better approach to put it into a widget. My theme nicely takes advantage of that.

    Hi Conficio,

    Sorry you ran into issues.

I’m not sure exactly what you’re asking here–are you asking if we can move that file into another one for future releases? Are you asking how to do that? Sorry–feeling a little thick at the moment!

Sorry to hear you are sick. Hope you are feeling better soon. I’m just recovering from a stomach bug myself.

And sorry for not being more clear.

Yes I suggest to move it into a template out from the core file. So it becomes easier to overwrite in a theme. A future release is fine.

I use the HERMOSO5 theme and it has a template for the search form that has a few nice looks. Like the suggested text “Search”. Let me know if you’d like to see edits.

    Hi Conficio,

We have some big plans about the look and feel of the plugin in general, so we’ll keep that in mind here as we execute on that. Thanks for the suggestion!
