  • Do you need that for specific purpose? I guess for getting such feature, you should modify the plugin itself.

    From Google Guideline for Sitemaps:

A Sitemap file is independent of the language of the content. To make sure that each language version can be crawled and indexed, use unique URLs. These URLs can all be included in your Sitemap files.

Trust google over ‘experts’ IMO. Even the specialists say this:

Added Clarification: Adding a multiple sitemap structure does not guarantee better indexation or more traffic, but it CAN have that affect.

I agree with what you say but also f.e.:
If you want to use Google Webmaster tools and there to set different Geotargeting for the two language versions:
    domain.com/bg
    domain.com/en

Than you have to add them in Google Webmaster Tools as two different sites, so that you can give them a Geotargeting for specific country. Which Google says “This will also improve Google’s search results for geographic queries.”

So 2 different sitemaps will be needed to add it both sites, because you can not send Google the same sitemap with all links in both sites.

Yes, but that’s not the same question. ??

A Sitemap file is independent of the language of the content. HOWEVER if you have separate languages in each SITE, then yes, you would want this ?? You didn’t give us all the info at first.

Yoast’s WordPress SEO plugin can do this.

Thank you, Ipstemu! I will test it ?? Hope it works well with the qtranslate plugin, which we used to translate the web site.
