Hi Allen…I’m using the feeds to posts and in the section “HTML and Image Handling” you have grouped removing HTML and images in excerpts. This makes me very sad.

I like getting rid of the HTML because it makes the mouseovers nice and clean. But…why do I have to sacrafice images to get this done?

I set this yesterday…and now my default thumb is showing up on all of the posts…and I would guess this is because now the new posts are not importing images…and the effects yesterday were that the mouseovers were cleaned up on all of the existing posts…didn’t see the image issue until today. (btw…I set it back to NO and am trying the eliminate all hyperlinks settings now…will see what happens with this setting.)

First of all, the reason why it works the way it does is because other people asked for it. They wanted the ability to strip all html (everything, links, images, etc.) from the excerpt. That is why if you turn this to YES, all html is stripped away.

I’m not sure what you mean by “default thumb” so I can’t say where this is coming from.

My theme has a default thumb setting if no other image is available. So when I had some new posts come in after I checked the no html/no image setting I was getting the default thumb on all of them.

I deleted all of these posts, and also turned off the default thumb feature in my theme.

And sure, I understand what you are saying regarding stripping ALL the html. I was getting the html markup in my mouseovers….and this is what I wanted to be free of because it looks nasty.

While other people may want to strip everything…that is entirely a matter of choice…esp. when all I wanted to do was to remove the html markup from the mouseovers.

I like the plugin a lot…and it works well. But this all or nothing setting is a deal breaker.

Regarding the default thumb…I would guess that my theme is overriding the plugin settings.

I have also noticed that I changed the wording in the read more area but it has not changed on any of the new posts…nor the existing ones(which I could understand not happenning…but the new posts I do not see why the read more text is not the new text that I updated)

I’m closing this thread since the person who asked the question had no patience in letting me respond.
