Serious home page problem

  • Hi, my site is broken. If I try to click on home or set my static page, Pickfeftish: Pick Reviews and Guide, it only shows a link to the page and it doesn’t work.

    When trying to edit the home page in the wordpress in the theme editor, there is no home page in it, and the front page only accepts my posts page.

    Ok, I gave up and restored to previous backup. I’m very frustrated, I tried everything I could manage to read about.

    It seems that somehow, the main page, while it existed, disappeared from the front page template and the blog took its place, and no matter what I did to restore it, it was no go.

    Thank goodness I made a backup yesterday, sigh.

    I sure wish I could have figured out how I broke it.

    However, the front page template is gone. Nevertheless, it opens to my home page now, as the settings (that I did have right) are set at.

    I’d love to know how to add a front page template and not have it be the blog, I just tried to make one, and it set it as blog automatically and that is NOT what I want.
