• Hi, I’ve tried for months to resolve this problem. Google will not index most of my sites posts and pages citing a problem with what appears to be my images. Those images are webp and small. I’ve given them alt text etcetera, but there are still problems. Can you please help me?

The site is about Guitar Picks

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • You have several SitemapXMLs. One from Jetpack, one from Yoast. I would recommend you to do without one of them. But this is more of a “beauty fix”.

What is the exact message you get from Google? And where do you see it?

Currently, 65 URLs of your site are indexed: https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=inurl%3Apickfetish.com – that’s about the total number of your pages.

About the Sitemaps, how do I know which one I should use and get rid of the other one? Should I go into my database in the root directory and remove one?

Secondly, it’s about 300+ extensions that all lead to imagines that I put on my pages that seems to be bringing up the crawl errors. On google’s Page Indexing service/machine, 330 items not crawled (Images). And also, 76 Attachments discovered but not indexed, those attachments all seem to be images of mine on my posts and pages. Mostly of various picks.

    Thank you for your response!

You need to disable the sitemaps in the plugins I mentioned. How to do that depends on the plugin. This is not something you change directly in the database or even via file editing.

You don’t have a sitemap over the media/attachments at all. So Google is not even informed about which media you have at all. Yoast describes the procedure in their FAQ: https://yoast.com/help/how-to-customize-the-sitemap-index/ – if you want to continue using Yoast, I would recommend you to contact their support forum: https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/wordpress-seo/

Thank you, I’m getting on it!

    I removed the jetpack sitemaps

I’ve asked for help in that forum you gave me the link to.

Question: How do I navigate to find such sub groups here?

You just have to go to the plugin pages, e.g. from Yoast: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wordpress-seo/ – there their support forum is linked on the right.
