• Hi there
im having serious problems with wp-admin.
All looks fine until i create a post. It disappears. Then do it again and it appears. Write another post and it replaces the first one. All very strange.
Media library disappears (but photos are uploading to proper file as i checked via FTP).
Basically anything to do with wp-admin is causing problems.
Ive tried turning off all plugins. That doesn’t make any difference. I get white screen everytime i try to update a post, deactivating plugins, reactivating plugins….I turned on the DEBUG function and it says my theme is depriciated. Ive switched to TWENTY FIFTEEN theme and it doesnt work properly. Basically im in a jam. The site looks fine, functions fine but the backend is a mess. Should i replace WP-ADMIN folder with new one?
    help much appreciated

    What theme are you using?

Did you do any updates to either WordPress, the theme, or any plugins just before this problem started?

Have you checked the error log file on the server to see if there are any recent errors that would give you a clue to what’s going on?

well in the meantime ive bought a genesis framework and installed a child theme. There was nothing in error logs but still a few errors as ive left DEBUG on to check…wp-admin still not working as well as it did…it was all strange as posts i did would disappear, everytime i deactivated a plugin id get a white screen and so on…is the best thing just to replace the wp-admin folder? Ive even replaced the .htaccess file. Ive done everything your advised to i.e. deactivated plugins, gchanging themes, renaming plugin folders….could it just be corrupt…

Yes try doing a complete copy of the WordPress files, with the exception of:

    /wp-config.php
    /wp-content

thanks Matt…seems to have all sorted itself out…perhaps after purging CDN cache, etc.
