Sermons template not showing when editing a page

Which theme are you using?

The Church Content plugin requires a theme specifically made for it. It will be the theme that shows the content according to its design. The plugin provides the management of content and does no publishing of its own. Page templates come from themes rather than plugins. Wise Church is made for the Church Content plugin but I am not familiar with how it shows sermons. It may be that it uses a method other than a “Sermons” template. In any case, it is a commercial theme with support so your best course of action with be to contact Probewise: https://www.probewise.com/support/forum/themes/wise-church/

Another alternative solution would be if I can display the sermons on a page with a shortcode, is this possible with this plugin? Are there any shortcodes available for it?

No, it handles management of content only. It expects a theme made for it to publish content in a tightly integrated manner.
