    Hello @goldjoe11,

    Thanks for using the Yoast SEO plugin. I can confirm what you have entered in our plugin is what’s showing in the page source:

    <title>“Bookie” Recap: Season 1 Episodes 5 &amp; 6</title>

    The issue is not due to our plugin or your page’s settings. Search engines oogle decides what your title says.?While they typically use the title from the metadata for indexing, this is not always the case. The title you enter in our snippet preview are?suggestions. Their goal is to represent best and describe each result. Their algorithm has concluded that there is a better version to index.?We have additional information on this topic:?Google shows the wrong title for my site.

    Due to this being handled on the search engine’s end, there is little you can do to force them to display your preferred title.

    Thanks for replying @maybellyne

    I’m sorry if I didn’t get what you said above.

    I’m partially okay with the “SEO Title” and hope they will show as I want soon.

    But not with the “Site Name” – Google shows “Site URL” in the slot dedicated to “Site Name” (next to Site Icon).

    In this case, Bing shows it right. (Site Name)

    So, I don’t have much to do with this issue (Site Name) too?

    I see what you mean, @goldjoe11. So, I ran the URL through Google’s rich results test tool, and you have the correct site name, not the domain name. See screenshot.

    The Yoast SEO plugin will use the name of your WordPress site as the website name, as indicated in WordPress > Settings > General. If you want a different name to be displayed in the search results, you can change the site name in the field WordPress > Yoast SEO > Settings > General > Site Basics > Website name. This will overwrite the default WordPress site name in the structured data code that Yoast SEO outputs for the name of the WebSite.

    In addition to controlling the site name, you can also control the output for the alternateName structured data by filling in the “Alternate website name” field. Like name, this is a property of the WebSite structured data. Here, you can enter a (potentially shorter) alternate name for your website. You can read more here.

    Google knows your preferred site name may not be selected and is working to address this. You can read more here.

    @maybellyne

    This “Google knows your preferred site name may not be selected and is working to address this. You can read more?here ” has resolved my concern. Thanks again.
