Serve scaled images

  • Hi there,

    I am using WooCommerce Products Carousel All-in-one plugin, and have been working on site optimization. After running a GTmetrix scan on my homepage, I realized I got an F in “Serve scaled images”.

    Upon investigation – all 4 photos being listed were those that are being used in the Carousel plugin.

    Is this something that plans on being developed so that the images in the carousel are scaled and it doesn’t negatively impact the site speed/load time? (it’s pulling photos that are 90% bigger than what they need to be for the carousel, from the WooCommerce product page).

    Please let me know if it’s just a configuration issue, or if this is not a function that the plugin does yet (and if not, is it something which will be added later? I love the plugin, but can’t use it if it’s causing major speed issues on my site).

    @teastudiopl just thought I’d bump this to see if you are checking support tickets. I’d love to keep this plugin, just curious if there is a fix for this, as it’s an important speed issue to keep my site running more optimally. Please advise! Thank you for your time ??

    @globe_trottah I’m checking support tickets, sorry for delay but I’m preparing the new version with some new/special features…

    What size of images did you select? You can use thumbnail instead of full size.
    Is that what you mean?

    I do not see anywhere to select the image size. I am looking at the WooCommerce Product Carosel All-In-One options (from the Settings tab) found here:

    /wp-admin/options-general.php?page=woocommerce-products-carousel-all-in-one

    and all I see for options are the following:
    – Include Font Awesome
    – Include Font Awesome in Admin panel
    – Include plugin’s scripts in “footer” section
    – Custom breakpoints

    I don’t see an option to select full size or thumbnail size photos on the carousel. Please advise ??

    I am using Version 1.2.9 if that helps.

    this option is available from widget or shortcode generator (page/post form).
