Serve Web Fonts from Theme

  • I’ve opened a bug against the Twenty Seventeen theme for this with evidence showing why one would not want to use Google Fonts (or any external provider for that matter) for serving fonts.

    To that end I need to update my Septera child theme to pull the Web Font files into the theme itself and away from Google. Any pointers you can provide before I get to it would be wonderful. Otherwise I’ll loop back and post my workaround for the Web Font SPOF here. Thanks!

    Closing this since it’s not Septera-specific, but a general issue with many WordPress themes as of late using external fonts from Google which do not work well worldwide. These fonts should be included in themes and not rely on a third party so they can be served from their own CDNs.
