after i activated WebP Converter for Media plugin.
    and i saw this message

Your server uses the cache for redirects. The rules from .htaccess file or from Nginx configuration are not executed every time when the image is loaded, but the last redirect from cache is performed. With each request to image, your server should execute the rules from .htaccess file or from Nginx configuration. Now it only does this the first time and then uses cache. This means that if your server redirected image to WebP format the first time, it does so on every request. It should check the rules from .htaccess file or from Nginx configuration each time during request to image and redirect only when the conditions are met. Disable server cache for redirects. Please contact your server administrator.

i spoke with my “server administrator” bluehost
and they asked me to spoke with you

    Hi @sarish2020,

    Thank you for your message.

Please tell me how can I help you? The message is clear. I have provided all the information I can give you there. The functionality is tested and it works properly – if it were not so, the problem would be reported by many people.

The same thing happens to me and a month ago it worked perfect. My server is the same as before.

@teto2022, this means that previously had a problem, but it is not seen, because the plug is not used to detect such problems.

Thanks for the answer. Is possible, but before the images were served on webP, not now. Now I can’t regenerate either.

@teto2022, you can not because you have a configuration error. When the plugin did not detect the problem, it did not block converting. Now detects this problem and if there is any mistake it does not allow you to convert images.

    Hey Mateusz!

First of all thank you for your wonderful plugin. As a hosting provider myself, usually we don’t deal with this kind of stuff, since the client configures his website himself, including DNS settings and what is being cached and what’s not (except some fancy setups). From the information which you have provided, my first bet would be on CloudFlare – large portion of websites these days use their free plan to improve performance and caching, and Cloudflare is well known for caching and serving the cached stuff from their servers instead of the origin web server. It is also well known for causing problems with many WordPress plugins, and I could even bet that this is probably the case.

To avoid further questions from the users of your plugin, I would advise to be supportive and add some tips or examples (where to look or what could be wrong) in the plugin notice about “Server configuration error”.

    Regards,

@webhaus, thank you for your idea. Could you please describe your proposal exactly?
