AIOSEO V3->V4 Migration as crashed our server several times.

The website is now very, very slow, i hope that when the database upgrade is complete that is became faster, or else I’ll remove All in One SEO.

With over 45k posts, 167k comments and massive database, the database upgrade is taking several hours and seems not to ending.

How can All in One SEO offer a “Pro” upgrade when it can’t handle a “Pro” website.

Our server Xeon E5-2630-V3 – 10 cores, 60GB ram, SSD

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hey @bushidopt,

    Thank you for reporting this.

The migration only migrates 100 posts/terms during each CRON job so that shouldn’t slow down your website much, especially with those kind of specs.

Are you seeing any errors in your server logs by any chance? And does the slowness go away if you deactivate AIOSEO (you can safely do so; the migration should pick up right where it left off once you reactivate the plugin)?

Update, i managed to deactivate the plugin. Everything back to normal.
What should i do to activate with out crashing the server?

Can′t afford to stay offline for so much time, installed WP Rollback, reverted to 3.7 and everything is super-fast. I’ll keep watching if the plugin is upgraded, or i’ll search for alternatives. Sorry.

    @bushidopt,

I am really sorry that this has happened. We will do our best to try and reproduce (45k posts, 167k comments, etc.) to see if we can find some performance improvements here and will get back with you as soon as possible.

Same here, 125k posts and 339k comments. 2 GPC VM instance 32GB/8 Cores with load balancer and MYSQL cluster with 64GB of RAM. Crawling pretty bad on wp-admin, frontend is static cache using LSCache

We are working on some improvements to the migration that will be available in the next update. I’d love to hear if these help your server, so please let us know.

The update is due out in the next few hours.

    Hi @arnaudbroes and @benjaminprojas

I have god and bad news. First, the server does not crash anymore, but the website becomes extremely slow. I have some screenshots, and for example in gmetrix it goes from a “B” to a “F”. Google structed data testing tool fails because posts takes too much time to load. Another problem that i found is with amp, i explain below.

    Server overload –> https://www.otakupt.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Untitled-28.jpg

With All In One SEO Pack 4.0.9 –> https://www.otakupt.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Untitled-27.jpg
    After Rolling back to 3.7.1 –> https://www.otakupt.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Untitled-26.jpg

I reverted back to 3.7.1, the time penalty that the website takes with All In One SEO Pack 4.0.9. is to grate to ignore, and instead of helping with SEO, it will have the opposite effect. With 45K posts and a data base of 632mb it will take a lot of days to update de DB, and with such a slow website google will definitively penalize us.

Also i received an email from google: “Coverage issue detected” – “Indexed, though blocked by robots.txt” from this url “https://www.otakupt.com/anime/absolute-duo-novo-trailer/{{post_url}}?amp”, i believe All In One SEO Pack 4.0.7 added “{{post_url}}”, i have never received this warning.

Could it be that plugins like WP Super Cache are being triggered by All In One SEO Pack 4 upgrading the DB? I will not debug the problem, it’s Christmas and this update as released in the worst time possible. Is it really needed a Data Base upgrade?

I’m seeing in the forum a lot of users with problems, and I’ll probably wait All In One SEO Pack 4 to mature, I can’t afford to be a Beta tester. With 3.7.1 I have all that I need, and don’t see in 4.0.9 something that I must have.

I use All In One SEO Pack since 2007, the same year the website started, I don’t want to leave for another plugin, but if All In One SEO Pack 4 can’t handle large, professional websites, and if something new appears in the SEO world I have no alternative, but to look for alternatives.

@bushidopt We’re continuing to make performance improvements for large sites although it’s hard for us to reproduce this because it depends on the server environment, database, caching and combination of plugins and themes.

If you’re happy using v3.7.1 for now then I’d recommend doing that.

With regards to your robots.txt, you should take a look at it https://www.otakupt.com/robots.txt because it doesn’t match the default robots.txt generated by WordPress which looks like this:

    User-agent: *
    Allow: /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php
    Disallow: /wp-admin/
