• Our server crashed last April, and we’ve been in the process of rebuilding for awhile now. We depend on community outreach and dialogue for most of our listenership, so the fact that our comments no longer work is really detrimental to our business. Is there any way to fix this so that the comments work again? Would downloading the update help? (site: wloy.org)

  • I just posted a test comment on your site and I didn’t get any error messages.

Error messages don’t happen. The fields can be filled out, but then the comment does not show up on our dashboard for approval or denial.

Can you check to see if this test comment is in your moderation queue?

    It is not.

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress 3.3.2.

I’d also strongly recommend that you upgrade WordPress asap to minimise the risk of being hacked.
