• This has been happening for the past month or so with wordpress 3.6 and now 3.6.1. I am near certain it is not a plugin issue (deactivated all including jetpack). When I upload the images to my site it is ok for uploads. When I add the images to a post the entire server and update post the entire site will play up. Images won’t add as the server is down and update and publishing always goes to a “No Data Received” screen however the update and publish do actually happen. All other sites on my server also go down. The downtime is minimal but if I continue to add to the post issues get worse. A complete pain in the ass as I use a lot of images in my posting. A recent example shown here:

  • Did you contact your host and ask them to check the error logs ?

Doing now. Will get back with what they say. Thanks.

Contacted the host. No error logs. Told me to delete caches etc. Did that. Tried from other laptops, search engines and devices as they told me but no difference. Server continues to crash. The more data I add to the post the worse things become. The first few paragraphs I can update save etc but add in images and in depth posts and every update or adding image crashes the server.

Took initiative at solving myself and I got a plugin to delete all the past revisions of posts. I thought with a lot of updates and autosaves the memory maybe full. Left it to the past 3 autosaves to keep…. anyway no luck. Changed the autosave time to 300 seconds and nothing…..

    Completely lost now. HEEEEELLLPPP

    Thanks ??

Have you tried deactivating ALL plugins and switching to the twentythirteen theme to see if the issue persists?

You might also want to look at the GD forums – you’re not the only one running into this problem…

So I’m back after a month and still no luck. All plugins taken down, switched to the twentythirteen theme and problems persist and are now even worse. I cannot post or update at all to my wordpress website. This is not only for one website but all of my servers websites (all on wordpress). I have tried updating on more than 3 different websites, 3 different ips, 3 different countries, 3 different continents…. I am near certain this is my hosting at fault. If there is anything else I should check let me know? I think this covers what Godaddy told me to do:

    1. Scan your local machine for malware/viruses.
    2. Clear cache and cookies in your browser or try a Private Browsing session.
    3. Review the scripting on your site to ensure repeated rapid POST/GET requests are not being made.

I have emailed twice to Godaddy and phoned them today. Above was the response to the last email and of course I have tried fixing it with no luck. When I phoned today they said settings were changed and I should be able to post again in 15 minutes (hours ago). My developer is stumped and the only advice I am getting is to leave Godaddy but that is a hefty task with multiple domains etc.

That being said when I make small posts e.g. a few text sentences the posts do come through. It is when I add images and high word count. I feel images are the possible culprit as I do add roughly 10 per post. This goes the same for old posts; if i login go to an old post and update the site crashes.

One month later, pissed off clients, baffled me and things no clearer but getting worse.

Here is my site stripped down to 2013 https://live-less-ordinary.com/ with only one plugin Yoasts WordPress SEO. is it ok to deactivate Yoast without losing my data?

So no less than 5 minutes after posting the above – I worked it out. Being an absoulute braniac (fluked it) it seems to be the images; as I was writing at the end of the post above. More or less my images were linked to the original files in the server to make them load on the fancybox. Every time I published or updated the post the server crashes as so many POST/GET requests are sent to the server – from each image and linked text. This means the ip is blacklisted and temporarily blocked from posting. By taking the links out of the images it will fix the problem but unfortunately it does not fix the problem with godaddy and for now my fancy box images aren’t available. hope this helps with anyone with similar problems.

    Best of Luck.

Exactly the same problem here…. Server crashes whenever i upload images.
Spoke to godaddy who had me log in through a private window in firefox – this worked once whilst i was on the phone then not again.
Changing host as I’ve had nothing but problems with godaddy.
