• My poll has been running for a couple of weeks but all of a sudden no one is able to vote on it and it shows the message ‘Server error please try again’.

I’ve tried disabling all other plugins which had no effect.

Any ideas why this might be happening?

    Hey @barbassoc

I visited the page and I was able to vote. Twice (tried incognito/private window).

Can you provide some screenshots or more details on the issue?

    Thanks

Hi. That’s interesting. I’m unable to vote and 2 other people have had the same problem. Here’s a screenshot of what we’re seeing when we try to vote:

This error occurs in both Firefox and Edge (possibly others but I’m waiting to hear which browser someone else was using). Google Chrome seems to work fine.

I’ve also been in touch with our hosting provider who’s unable to find a problem on their side but the problem remains in Firefox (91.0) and Edge (92.0.902.73)

Interesting. My test vote was done from Edge 91.0.864.71, but it’s also true all browsers have been hardening security measures.

Having said that, we haven’t had (so far) complaints towards voting on our polls. I just updated Firefox to the latest version and placed yet another vote:

We’ll be looking into this and will notify here as soon as we get some insights on the issue.

    Thanks for the report!

Thanks for the reply and for looking into this. Some checks we were able to make showed that the tracking prevention in Edge was triggering the error and if the tracking prevention was switched off the error went away. This hadn’t been an issue for the past couple of weeks. Thanks again for your help so far.

Hey @barbassoc Thanks again for the report.

We released a new version of Crowdsignal Forms (v1.5.6) which should solve the problem. We’re also talking to https://disconnect.me/trackerprotection who are responsible for getting our domain on this blocklist due to us tracking visitors when we actually don’t (we only use a cookie based on our users request to prevent double voting).

Don’t hesitate to come back if more problems should arise.

Hi there. Thanks for this. Unfortunately the problem is still there even after updating the plugin. Our poll closes on Monday so I don’t think this is likely to be resolved by then but hopefully by the next time we use it the issue with the block list will have been fixed which might help.

Thank you so much for being so response to this, even if we didn’t find a solution yet.
