Server error when refreshing feeds

Hi,

Sounds like you might have an issue with your database (connection).

You mentioned you looked for an error.log but did you also check out the WooCommerce fatal error logs of today? Instructions on how to retrieve it can be found here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/finding-php-error-logs/

Please share the content of today’s error log here.

I can’t find the ”fatal-errors.log” in the dropdown in the woocommerce logs section.

Is there an alternative?

Than most likely there are no WooCommerce fatal error logs. You mentioned this:

One of the errors stating ”error establishing database connection” and ”host database server down”

Perhaps you can reach out to your host asking if they have logs available that show what has happened?

The script is spawning so many processes at once its causing your hosting accounts entry process limit to be overloaded / reached, to solve this issue you will need to alter your script so that it does not create so many processes at once / symultaneously.`”’

Hi,

Those requests are not (all) coming from our plugin so something else might happen. Requests to this file “public_html/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php” indeed might come from our plugin as it does a quick check per feed if it needs to be updated or not. Than again, those should not already result in a database connection issue.

Anyhow as a last resort you could try lowering the batch size of the plugin to a really low batch size of lets say 250 so it uses less of your server resources. I doubt it will solve the issue but it is worthwhile trying. This is how you can lower it from the default 750 products per batch to 250: https://adtribes.io/batch-size-configuration-product-feed/

I am afraid there is nothing more we can do about this from our side. The issue seems to lay in the low server / database connections or resources you are allowed to use from your host. Perhaps you can ask them to increase those?
