I received the following message from my hosting regarding performance of your plugin on the site – (there are a lot of entries)

We are seeing high load being generated from your site, the events pages seem to be running very slowly when visiting them and this is generated a lot of CPU load. I think the events plugin you use might be the culprit now there are a lot of past events in the calendar, I wonder if it possible to prune or archive old events? This may help speed things up and reduce the load

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @foxnose,

    Thanks for reaching out!

Sorry to hear about the troubles. If you have lots of events in your calendar, especially if there are a lot in the same month / week / day, then that will have an affect on the speed for sure, just like if you have a lot of posts.

There are a couple of things you can try:

    • Use caching
    • remove old events / limit future events to only 1-2 months in the future
    • switch to a hosting plan / provider with more resources available

I would also recommend this article for reading, might give you some further tips.

Hope this helps and let us know if you have further questions.

    Cheers,
    Andras
