• I just changed server permission of my wp-content folder to 777 via Fetch FTP. Afterwards I attempted to upload an image but got this reply from the wordpress file upload interface:
Unable to create directory /home/httpd/vhosts/cristianbosch.com/httpdocs/blog/wp-content/2007/02. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

Should I make my main directory (/blog) writable by enabling 777 configuration?
Any hints on what the problem could be?
    thanks.

  • Only wp-content should be writable (777).
As with any world wide writable directory/file… there is a risk that the whole (hacker) world will really try to write into it ??

Yes, wp-content is writable. I already modified that. But I’m still getting this message:
“Unable to create directory /home/httpd/vhosts/cristianbosch.com/httpdocs/blog/wp-content/2007/02. Is its parent directory writable by the server?”

What else should I be cheking?
