Server Reaching PHP Worker Limit?

    Love your plugin! Recently, my system admin noticed that our server was getting hit with 502 errors. It appears our server (google cloud) is maxing out on its php worker limit.

    We enabled New Relic and discovered an issue with MaxMind. Please see screenshots below. Maxmind said it’s not them. I’m wondering if you’ve ever seen this issue with your plugin?

    Good question. The Screenshot indicates he is downloading the Maxmind file on every instance again, that’s why it takes so long to “fire up an instance”. The file is stored in /uploads by default, is this a shared directory for all workers? Do you have an idea to improve this situation?

    You could use the option “manual” in the wordpress plugin and configure the Maxmind update script independently from the wordpress, so that WordPress doesn’t even try updating it.
