I am running PHP 7.4. but the plugin isn’t updating.

I get an error message saying the plugin requires 8.0, however, the version 1.9.6 details states “Requires PHP: 7.4 or higher”.

    Version: 1.9.6
    Author: Made with Fuel
    Last Updated: 5 days ago
    Requires WordPress: 4.8 or higher
    Compatible up to: 6.6.1
    Requires PHP: 7.4 or higher

    Thank you

    Hi @sitebites,
    Thanks for your message.

Can you please re-download the plugin from this site and replace the exisiting one in your WP Admin? That should allow you to update as expected in the future.

Let me know if this helps.

I am also running PHP 7.4 and get the error: Update failed: The package could not be installed.

I do not want to lose my settings. What can I do to update from version 1.93?

    Hi @kuppj00,
I’m not sure why this should be as the requirements to satisfy an upgrade from 1.9.3 to 1.9.6 should have been met.

Can you tell me the exact version of PHP 7.4 you’re using according to WP Admin > Tools > Site Health > Info > Server?

    The PHP version is 7.4.33

    Hi @kuppj00 @sitebites,
Are you able to click ‘Check again’ link in your WP Admin > Dashboard > Updates to see if it allows you to update afterwards?

If not, can you re-download the plugin from this site and re-upload it via WP Admin > Plugins > Add New Plugin > Upload Plugin.
It should then fix the issue but let me know if you’re still running into issues.

WP Admin > Dashboard > Updates
WP Admin > Plugins > Add New Plugin > Upload Plugin

Both not updating with the error that PHP 8.0 is needed.

    Hi @kuppj00,
I’ve just released a new version of the plugin which seems to now allow it to be installed via the WP Admin.
Please try this and let me know how you get on.
