I’m trying to set up this plugin but don’t have any server settings available. (Want to connect my blog to Mastodon.) Is there a page with setup instructions? Apologies if this is obvious and I missed it.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

I never heard about that before ??

Do you have a screenshot for me? Are you the admin user on the system?

As I said, this is how it should look like, there are no settingds yet ??

@dangillmor if you have any issues, could you try to describe them, so that I could help you?

So – there’s at the moment no possibility to configure the plugin to authenticate / coonnect to a mastodon-instance?

This is no crossposting plugin, you do not have to connect to a mastodon account. You can directly follow your blog on mastodon! You can find the [email protected] on your author-edit page under fediverse.

Looks like I didn’t (don’t) fully understand how this works, so apologies if I’ve wasted your time.

Can you tell me how I follow the blog on Mastodon, and where my author-edit page would be at the Mastodon instance (if that’s where it is)?

    Plugin Author Matthias Pfefferle

    (@pfefferle)

    No problem ??

You can find the identifier of your blogs user on the ?edit profile“ page of your blog (wp-admin/profile.php) after the headline fediverse. It should look like [email protected].

Then you can go to your mastodon instance and search for this identifier and it should show up in the results where you can press the follow button.

Hmmm, it wasn’t located there: “Could not find anything for these search terms”

Can you share your identifier, that I might help with debugging?

Hmm, is there a way not to make my user login name public?

Not at the moment, but that is in the works!

I’ll keep an eye out for that. Thanks for your fast replies!
