I just tried your steps and that worked for me as well. Very grateful and much thanks. But I believe Wordfence must have fixed the bug, the scan always stalled, broke, or never finished scanning every time I clicked that scan outside the WordPress files. Anyways, thanks a million! I can mark this as resolved.

Solution of STEP 3 from biovenezuela (@biovenezuela) worked. Awesome ??

Step 1: click on the option: Scan Options and Scheduling

Step 2: click on the option: General Options

Step 3: Enable Scan files outside your WordPress installation

Step 4: Make a new scan
