• Hi all,

again, I seem to be unable to see tabs in my wordpress installation. I was the one with the missing tab “editor” under “appearance”.

I am now on the hunt for the “Service Tab” and “Employee Tab” and thelike. Where am I supposed to look for them?

    Kind regards
    Kerstin

  • Have a look at the documentation please. You need to import the settings .xml file in the Types plugin and all of those tabs will show up.

Did all of that. So where are they supposed to show up, please?

They show up below your Posts and Pages tabs. There is no way that they are not there if you’ve imported the file correctly.

Well. Not there. But I have installed the recommended Plugins and imported the types file (i do also see the Types Tab). Henne, no indication that something went wrong with the installation / import.

That’s strange. People usually get some error if they import the settings file in a wrong way.

I don’t know what could be wrong, but feel free to send an admin account at vlad[at]athemes.com if you want me to take a quick look.

Oh gosh, yes, that would be perfect!

I fear it is the same bloody problem as with the editor under appearance.

I surfed a little and plugins that would hide the editor. Which I not installed! I found quotes that referred to changing the configuration.php and the functions.php, bit I am not familiar enough with these to understand them.

It seems you didn’t actually imported the file. I just imported it for you and it’s working.

There is some code you can add in wp-config.php to disable the editor, but I don’t remember at the moment what that code is. Have you tried reinstalling WordPress?

Thanks! At least one problem solved.

Did you see the editor under appearance?

    And yes, I did re-install.

I think I am going to do that again.

Nope, I’m not seeing the editor.

    Strange.

Anyway thanks for solving the other problem!

Okay, I’ve got the same problem. Sorry if I’m not up to speed on the correct terminology, but when i go to [my_site]/wp-admin I don’t see the various ‘tabs’ to put content in Services, Employees, Testimonials etc… I freely admit to doing something wrong, but I’ve imported the settings (using Types->Import/export and choosing the settingsv9.xml).

Mostly this seems to be working well and I’m excited about how it is coming together! Thanks in advance…

If you’ve imported the settings file then those tabs should be there. Have you done it like it is shown in the video on the documentation page?

hi vlad… Yes, did the settings (and content) imports… Everything is looking good but the left nav/tab is not as robust as in the vid… I wonder is it possible something is stomping on those extras? I have a few extra plugins but nothing seems obvious.

Also, if I’ve got a bunch of content tweaked (I guess it’s just a couple Pages and the theme setup) would re-importing the settings delete all that? I can re-import…

    Thanks…

Well hot damn I just re-imported the settings xml and those tabs are now present and it seems like all the other config I’ve done is in tact… Thanks vlad!!!

I am having the same issue. I have imported the demo . xml – It imported but with a few “failed to import” messages and tried to import the settings .xml but when I click import, I get “This does not appear to be a WXR file, missing/invalid WXR version number” every time.
