serving on something other than index.php

I have an existing page that serves on index.html. I want to replace it with a WordPress installation, but I don’t want it to replace my current page until I have WordPress configured the way I want.

Can I install wordpress so that it runs on some goofy name like “testinstall.php”, then once I have things the way I want just rename “testinstall.php” to “index.php”?

Are there any tricks or traps I should know about before I try?
