Sessions not clearing in the DB

  • The wp_pantheon_sessions DB table doesn’t seem to be deleting any old/expired sessions. We are using WordPress 4.6.1 and the latest version of the plug-in. Currently the table has over 20k rows, and we had manually emptied the table only 2 days ago.

    Any idea what might be going on?

    No immediate ideas off the top of my head.

    Here are a few questions which might yield a debugging direction:

    • How have you verified the old/expired sessions are actually expired sessions?
    • Which plugin are you using that requires sessions? Could it be keeping the sessions open somehow?
    • Are there any patterns in the actual session data that might yield some clues?
