Set Defaults in Mobile App

  • There are a couple of site defaults that are configurable in the Desktop app that seem to be missing from the mobile app, and would be especially helpful there.

    For example, on Desktop I can set all media placed in posts to link by default to the media file, and new posts by default are assigned to certain categories and tags.

    This is a real time saver when writing new posts with a full keyboard. Would be super helpful to have this option when posting from the mobile app, where every keystroke is more difficult, and usually more rushed.

    I think it would work best if these defaults are specific to posting from the app, separate from desktop defaults, since mobile posts are typically different types than more lengthy posts done via desktop.

    This support forum is geared toward WordPress sites. But for help (or suggestions) related to the WordPress mobile app we recommend opening the app to My Site > your Gravatar image (top-right) > Help & Support. They are always interested in improving user workflows, and I can see how this would save time on follow-up edits you’d have to perform from a computer later on.
