Set featured image for front/home page

  • I’m using Twenty Eleven theme.

    I have 4 pages that have featured images set.

    I want the front page which is set for blog posts to have a different featured image.

    In other words, the site has 5 pages and each has a different header image.

    The pages are fine but how do I set the featured image on the front page?

    Okay, I think I can answer my own question.

    First you set the site wide featured image in Theme Options -> Header. Then you can go into Pages -> Edit and way down in the right hand corner is a Set Featured Image option.

    However, it seems if I want to change the Home/Front page header afterwards, it overwrites my selected featured images for my pages, not so good.

    Do we have a way to do this? Set a new Home/Front page after setting featured images for headers on all the pages?

    How do I change just the Front page header featured image, without losing the featured images I specified for each individual page?
