Set Featured Image not working

  • I just upgraded to 3.1 and I am trying to use the ‘Set Featured Image’ feature, and everytime I click ‘Set Featured Image’ nothing happens. Just nothing, no page reload, nothing.

    I disabled my theme and activated twenty ten , but same thing, so its not my theme.

    I just installed the wordpress theme, so there are no plugins installed or activated.

    I have multiple wordpress installs on my host, I checked my other installs and there are no problems. So I don’t think its with 3.1 update, however I do think its a problem somewhere and I really don’t want to re install wordpress.

    So if someone can please point in the right direction, that would be great!

  • Hey I’m having the same issue, have you had any luck yet?

    And here’s No 3, I can’t set one either. I did set several in the past, already with 3.1 but when I tried to put one in last night and again today – from URL – I did not get a featured image though it was still inserted into the post. Thus the slider does not show the image for this post.

    Rather strange.

    Anyone have any clue why this is happening? I am getting rather tired of it myself. I am trying really hard to design a site but none of my featured images are actually being saved.

    I go in and set the featured image and then when I finally close everything, the picture isn’t in the little box in the editor screen.

    DO I need to reinstall wordpress? I am not technical enough to get in and start gutting this in PHP.

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    This problem was solved for me today by making sure that the image I was using was at least 940pw (the width of the TwentyTen header). Previously I was uploading 1000pw images, but when I started uploading smaller ones – no go.

    I was able to go back and fix earlier posts using new images that were wider.
