Set featured image not working

  • (Actually, WP 3.8.5 but that wasn’t an option above.)

    I’m not able to add new slides for some reason. When I click ‘Add New’, I get the “Add New Slide” screen…but clicking ‘Set featured image’ brings up a full-window media selector with no option to return to the WP Dashboard at all. And selecting my image – whether from the Media Library or from my computer – results in failure. The interface TELLS me it’s saving but it never does. One time, I was quick and clicked the ‘Done’ link before it faded away (which it’s doing only seconds after each ‘set featured image’ attempt) and got a message telling me that the image could not be used. But then, of course, this unusual full-window selector doesn’t offer me the chance to re-select OR back out. The ‘Save all changes’ also doesn’t appear to work, either.

    This sounds like a JavaScript issue, possibly a conflict with another plugin. I would try deactivating your other plugins, refreshing the admin and trying to set the featured image again. If that works you can reactivate your other plugins until it breaks to find the conflict.

    The featured image functionality hasn’t changed in a long time so this should work even on an older version of WordPress, but I haven’t tested Meteor Slides 1.5.3 with anything older than WordPress 4.0 and I strongly recommend keeping WordPress and all of your plugins updated to the latest version.
