Set filters to display depending on previous filter?

  • Is there a way to prevent all the filter selections from appearing at the same time?

    I have two main categories – each with the same sub and sub-sub-categoies.

    Something likes this:
    Ford Toyota
    4door 4door
    Blue Blue
    Red Red
    2door 2door
    Silver Silver
    White White

    …and so on.

    Rather than have all the categories appear at the same time is it possible to
    make what appears dependent on what is selected? So, first the user is asked “Ford” or “Toyota”….then show only filter options available for categories and taxonomies that exist under the “Toyota” main category? ??
