Set home page hide login box.

  • New to wordpress.
    I have installed wp in 2010 theme and the wp property plugin.
    2 questions; how do I set my home page (blahblah.com and not blahblah.com/about/=p2/3) as my property overview page and not about etc?
    Watched the otherwise excellent tutorial on wp property but the home page is not given as an option. I know for seo purposes it would be better to have my home page as landing page.
    Secondly, how do I move the login box from the home page to somewhere else, preferable somewhere disrete or hidden?
