Set UM/WP role in another plugin (integration)

The TwitchPress plugin made it possible for Twitch.tv streamers to give their viewers a UM role based on the viewers Twitch subscription plan.

Since the UM 2.0 update that no longer works properly.

What is the approach for the TwitchPress plugin to use UM functionality to properly manage roles, starting with set_role() type of functionality which I tried to hook without any luck.

Thanks for your help team, there are some streamers with broken sites due to an integration between TwitchPress and your plugin that I’m only just getting around to sorting.
